How Aura Connect collects, uses and protects your information. Last updated September 2026.
1. Who we are
Aura Connect is a marketplace that connects clients who need remote worker support with remote workers who buy a membership to access job leads. In this policy “we”, “us” and “our” mean Aura Connect. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.
If you have any question about this policy, contact us through our contact page and we will respond as quickly as we can.
2. Data we collect
Account data: your name, email address, business name, account type and, where you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google shares with us.
Profile data: anything you choose to add to your remote worker or client profile, including photos or logos, an about section, services, pricing packages, portfolio samples and links.
Job data: the briefs you post, budget and timing preferences, any supporting files you upload, and the contact details attached to a job.
Activity data: leads you unlock, quotes, invoices, assignments, messages, reviews and misconduct reports you submit.
Billing data: membership tier, subscription status and billing period. Card details are handled by our payment provider Stripe and are never stored by Aura Connect.
Technical data: log data such as IP address, device and browser information, and error reports used to keep the service running.
3. How we use your data
To create and run your account, publish your profile, and match briefs with remote workers.
To gate contact details and supporting files so that only members who have unlocked a lead can see them.
To take payment for memberships, manage renewals and monthly lead allowances, and issue receipts.
To send service emails such as job alerts, new message notifications and moderation decisions. You can manage alert emails on your notifications page.
To moderate content, review reports of misconduct, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
To improve the service, diagnose faults and produce anonymous, aggregated statistics.
4. Legal bases
We process your data to perform our contract with you (running your account and membership), for our legitimate interests (keeping the platform safe, preventing fraud, improving the service), to comply with legal obligations (accounting and tax records), and with your consent where consent is required, for example optional marketing.
5. Who we share data with
Other users, but only as described in the product: clients see an remote worker’s profile once that remote worker has contacted their job, and remote workers see a client’s contact details and job files only after unlocking that lead.
Service providers who help us run Aura Connect, including our hosting and database provider, Stripe for payments, and our email delivery provider. They act on our instructions.
Authorities or advisers where we are legally required to disclose information, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of our users.
We never sell your personal data.
6. Storage and security
Profile photos, portfolio images and job attachments are stored in private buckets and are only served through short-lived signed links to people who are entitled to view them. Access to the database is controlled by row-level security rules that mirror the visibility rules described above.
No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us straight away if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.
7. How long we keep data
We keep account, profile and job data for as long as your account is active. After you close your account we delete or anonymise your data, except records we must keep for legal, accounting, dispute or safety reasons, which we retain for up to six years.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive it in a portable format. You can also withdraw consent where we relied on it, and complain to your data protection regulator (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
Most profile, job and notification settings can be changed by you directly in your account.
9. Cookies
We use cookies and similar local storage strictly to keep you signed in, remember preferences and keep the service secure. We do not use advertising cookies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service develops. Where changes are significant we will let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
